Passage off Meltham Road
What took my eye was the new-looking lamp-post, unexpected in a narrow passage like this. It is presumably either to help or to deter the vodka drinkers (see discarded empty bottle in the foreground).

The Shoulder of Mutton, Lockwood
The pub on Neale Road bears a sign says 'Est[ablished] 1771'. It is certainly named on the earliest OS 6-inch map of 1854. But according to CAMRA it was 'extensively reconstructed' in 1927. It is reckoned as a 'heritage pub' as some of the rooms are little changed since then, nearly a hundred years ago. After a period of closure it reopened under new management in July 2022, and serves a variety of real ales.

Rear of properties on Bridge Street, Lockwood
This row of houses has its front on Bridge Street. They look to have been built as a single range, but are covered, oddly, by five separate grade II listings (and not even consecutive numbers) but all dated to the early 19th century.

The heritage listing refers to the 'glazed and leaded screenwork' of this small lounge, dating presumably from the 1927 restoration. See Image for the outside of the pub and some history.
