Passing 114's
The junction of Watling Avenue with the A5, Burnt Oak Broadway. Across the street, on the corner of Stag Lane, is a fine example of a 1930's department store - currently occupied by Peacocks. Because of the staggered nature of the junctions with Watling Avenue and Stag Lane, traffic is often held up by the closely spaced sets of traffic lights. The bus on the left can't go any further and is now blocking the junction for traffic trying to turn out of Watling Avenue. The bus on the left is a Volvo with East Lanc's bodywork - the programmed type for the 114 route. The bus going in the other direction is a Scania OmniCity which normally operates the 183 route, but every now and again one makes an appearance on the 114.
