Stanmore: Regent House
Tucked away amongst all the anonymous shops and offices in Stanmore, and now partially hidden from the street by vegetation, is this little architectural gem, on Church Road. Originally a house and possibly with parts dating from around 1680 the frontage is Georgian, dating from about a hundred years later. It is a Grade II Listed Building, now in use as offices.

Stanmore: The former Post Office, now the Spice Rack
Now an Indian restaurant http://www.spiceracklounge.com/ this was once Stanmore's Post Office on Church Road. The Post Office still has a presence on Church Road but now occupies premises on the opposite side of the road and to the east.

Former post office, Stanmore
Like many a former post office this building has a new role as restaurant and licensed premises. Built in the mid-1930s to the designs of architect Frederick Llewellyn of the Office of Works. Changes have been made to the building (the two entrances on the left and right of the building have converted to windows, and a new central entrance made).
