Stanburn Stream or Edgware Brook
I have seen both names in use for this upper tributary of the River Brent, so I have put both in the title.

Stanmore Village station, Middlesex
This station, which strongly resembles a village church, was opened in 1890 as the terminus of a private branch from Harrow and Wealdstone, later incorporated into the LNWR. As seen here in 1957 the appearance is almost as original except for the loss of the large clock over the entrance door. The station closed to passengers in 1952 and for goods in 1964. Sadly the buildings were incorporated into private housing developments and the site is now almost unrecognisable.

Stanmore Village Station, Middlesex
This shows the disused passenger platform at Stanmore village Station. Although this was taken many years after the last passenger train, the platform appears still to be in good condition. The small spire visible is not a church, but is part of the station frontage.

Stanmore Village station, Middlesex
This station has already been closed to passengers for many years by the time of this 1957 photograph, but it saw an occasional goods train. By the end of 1964, however, this too had gone and the station was abandoned.

Stanmore: Former Stanmore Village railway station now September Way
This was another attempt to take a photograph from the same viewpoint occupied by the esteemed Dr Neil Clifton in 1957
Image All traces of the railway have now gone from here, but the trees beyond the houses could be in the same locations as the trees on the left of the railway in the earlier photograph.
The railway functioned from 1890 to 1964 although passenger traffic was terminated in 1952. The trackwork and sidings had all been lifted by 1970 when the current September Way housing estate was started.

Stanburn Stream below Temple Pond
Stanburn Stream refers to the upper section of the Edgware Brook, a tributary at the top of the Brent catchment, the river which drains much of north-west London. This is just over 2 kms downstream of the source near Bentley Priory.
