Semi-detached Houses on Steroids
Both sides of this 1950's semi have two storey extensions with the right side managing to fit in a traditional garage.
32% of UK housing was semi-detached in 2008. The trend is on the decline now.

Metropolitan and Piccadilly Lines near Ruislip Manor
The Metropolitan Railway completed their line to Uxbridge in 1904. Later, in 1910, the District Line made a connection to the Metropolitan Railway at Rayners Lane enabling them to run trains to Uxbridge too. Finally in 1933 the Piccadilly Line replaced the District Line, so both Lines use the same track.
Here an Uxbridge-bound Metropolitan Line train, glistening after a recent heavy rain shower, approaches Ruislip Manor station, with Unit No. 5138 leading. With the sun shining brightly the front of the train has an oddly orange colour, not the usual red, and despite all of London Underground's security a graffiti tagger has still managed to disfigure the livery.
