Formby Avenue, off Kenton Lane, Harrow, Middlesex
Only two motor cars stand parked in Formby Avenue in this 1955 view - today it would be hard to find a space anywhere along the road. The gas lamps, of course, have also long disappeared.

Stanmore: 68 Formby Avenue
These small semis were cheaply built in an age when it was not realised that every household would own at least one motor car, with the result that almost all front gardens have been paved over to make a space for the car.

H10 bus on Christchurch Avenue
The H10 is a service on a circular route to and from Harrow, with H9 on the same circuit in the opposite direction. The distant spire down Christchurch Avenue is not Christchurch, but the new mosque across the road from Harrow Civic Centre.
