Branksome Hill Road
A suburban residential street, but very different in character from the recently built housing just to the south. No maze of short no through roads here, Branksome Hill Road runs dead straight for over a kilometre lined with a mixture of housing from different decades.

Traffic light camera at Rackstraw crossroads
A traffic light camera at Rackstraw crossroads, to catch and fine those running red lights. There are cameras on the north and south roads (Marshall Road and Rackstraw Road), initially installed as these roads were 60mph limits (now 50mph) and many accidents occurred with people not being able to brake in time for quickly changing lights and crashing into crossing traffic. Those travelling north to south from Rackstraw Road to Marshall Road travelling at or above the speed limit can 'take off' mid crossroads as a ridge in the road acts as a ramp, giving a little air.
