Wild carrot (Daucus carota) at Rodsall Manor
Found growing in a patch of long grass in front of the manor house. The inflorescence has a highly complex radial symmetry - how many ways symmetrical is far from clear. Photo taken at about 8pm on a July evening.

At Rodsall Manor
Quite a remote habitation by the standards of south-east England - and distinctly so in Surrey. Apart from the manor farmhouse with its minor outbuildings there is a stable block (now residential), a stone-built barn, and a couple of cottages. The site can be reached by made-up public road, but I arrived on foot, along a bridleway from the Puttenham - Elstead road.
