Midhurst station, on last day of passenger services, 1955
View NW, towards Petersfield, also (formerly) Chichester: ex-LB&SCR branch from Pulborough, went on to Petersfield as ex-LSWR branch, formerly also (ex-LB&SCR) branch to Chichester (closed 8/7/35). This (indifferent) view taken from a train to Petersfield shows another train going to Pulborough, behind an ex-LSW M7 0-4-4T. The station and line were not finally closed until 12/10/64, when goods services were withdrawn.

Seen on the Last Day (5/2/55) of the Petersfield - Pulborough passenger service, ex-LB&SC R. Billinton class E4 0-6-2T No. 32520 (built 6/1901 as No. 520 'Westbourne', withdrawn 1/57) is shunting at Midhurst, goods traffic continuing from the Pulborough direction to Midhurst until 10/64.
