Brasserie Rhone (1), London House, 134 High Street, Old Woking
The building is believed to date from the 17th century, and was timber-framed, but it has been much altered and added to, over the centuries. For a very long period there was a draper's shop here, with a succession of owners. Later it became Old Woking Post Office. After that closed, the building became a French restaurant, which is its present use.

Brasserie Rhone (2), London House, 134 High Street, Old Woking
Comparing this photo to the one taken exactly five months earlier, it is astonishing how, in that period, the ivy has rapidly spread to take over most of the end wall, and part of the roof and chimney.

The White Hart (1), 150 High Street, Old Woking
According to census returns, this building was a pub back in Victorian times. At various times there were also two others very nearby, the White Horse, and the Hand & Spear. Both have long gone.

The White Hart (2), 150 High Street, Old Woking
Although there is plenty of signage on the building showing the pub's name, there is not at present any traditional sign hanging outside. There clearly was one, at some time, as the empty bracket remains. There is also a smaller bracket, to which is attached a sign for Stella Artois, the popular Belgian beer.

Solar powered street light, car park, Old Woking
There are several of these futuristic looking street lights in the small car park, near the roundabout at the junction of the A247 and B382 roads. The lights have solar panels to take in sunlight during the day.
