School's Out
Bushy Hill School on a day when all schools in Surrey were closed because of the snowfall. This middle school is very new - rebuilt by funds raised from selling part of the playing fields to a housing developer. It gets its intake from neighbouring infant schools in Merrow and it feeds George Abbot Secondary School in Burpham.

Pond at Merrow Place

Old Merrow Street, Merrow.
This is the old street through the village. It is now a cul-de-sac for road traffic and many of the old cottages have modern houses built beside them. Merrow is now a suburb of Guildford and this road has been superseded by the busy Park Lane to the east.

Merrow Street
Snowy Guildford. Merrow Street, with its old and new cottages, is now a cul-de-sac. Formerly, it was the main road north from Merrow village centre - but now it is no longer a through road being cut by Kingfisher Drive, the main road in the 1980s Merrow Park housing estate.
Note the familiar Surrey diamond pattern in the brickwork of Salisbury Cottage.
