Wine Merchant's Offices, Burpham
A radical change of occupation has taken place here. Rackham's, the wine merchants, now reside in the former "Primitive" Methodist chapel. The brick building still has much ornamental friezework on its exterior.

Parish Boundary Stone, Burpham
19th Century boundary stone on London Road, Guildford. It marked the then boundary between Burpham and Worplesdon parishes. The inscription of Worplesdon is still just decipherable on the stone.

Former chapel fronting directly on London Road, Guildford
The building has a distinctive roofline, it is a former primitive Methodist Chapel, and is set very close to the main road. It is now occupied by offices.

George V postbox, near Ganghill, London Road, Burpham, Guildford
The setting makes it look like a rural postbox, but in fact it's by the busy London Road (the A3100), near the entrance to Ganghill. The box dates from the reign of King George V (1910-1936). The Royal Cipher is very stark, and does not contain the Roman numeral V, whereas George VI boxes always have a VI in the cipher. This box was made by the Carron Company of Stirlingshire, whose name is in the black painted area, at the bottom of the box. The box in situ:- Image

Ornamental feature at entrance to Ganghill, Burpham, Guildford
This is not a bus shelter, or even a smoking shelter, but is an ornamental feature on one side of the entrance to the private estate road Ganghill. It's not really a gazebo, as it's not open on all sides. On the other side is an identical structrure, which can be glimpsed here:- Image

Storm Damage, Ganghill
Recent gales have brought down a tree which has taken some of the lawn with it.
The gateway is the entrance to a private road.

London Road (A3100), Burpham, Guildford
The road on the left is Ganghill. Image
Just beyond the turn into Ganghill, is a structure which looks a bit like a beehive. It's not a bus shelter, but an ornamental feature. There is a similar one on the other side of the Ganghill entrance. Further along London Road, on the left, there is a bus stop and shelter.
