Old Buildings, The Waterloo, Cirencester.
These buildings now sit opposite one of the town centre's largest car parks. They have been converted to shops selling things such a double glazing and conservatories.

The ever-changing face of technology
A car park meter. Not just any old meter. Not just an electrically powered meter that prints out a ticket. It is the latest word in money transfer systems - the machine takes cash and plastic methods (hence the keypad). It won't be long before they give you a map of where you want to go and send you a text message when you're late...

Wildean graffiti, Cirencester
"Fashion is the only thing so hiddeous it has to be changed every 6 weeks". The original quote from Oscar Wilde, whose image accompanies the writing, is more along the lines of "fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months", but the gist is the same, although the spelling could do with brushing up. An intellectual form of vandalism on a pillar somewhere round the back of Argos in Cirencester.

Where the latest is heard
The Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard's offices in Dyer Street: the striking timbered building is in marked contrast to the Cotswold stone of the others. See

Cirencester, the largest town in the Cotswolds, is a market town some 15 miles south east of Gloucester and some 13 miles north west of Swindon. The town lies on the River Churn, a tributary of the River Thames and is the hub of a network of roads. It is the home of the Royal Agricultural University, founded in 1840. An important Roman settlement known as Corinium, the town, with 240 acres enclosed by walls was second only to London in size.
