House by the lake
This is a small reservoir adjacent to the Thames and Severn Canal (behind the camera), just above the bridge which carries the lane from Oakridge to Frampton Mansell. I expect it was built to supply water to the canal.

Lane to Chalford
The lane in the view goes down the valley to Chalford and the railway, river and canal are nearby but not visible also following the contours. At this junction one lane climbs to Oakridge and the other to Frampton Mansell.

The chamber of this lock on the Thames & Severn Canal has been allowed to fall into a poor state and will take quite a lot of restoration effort.
