This footpath runs along the contour of the south-facing valley overlooking the River Frome. Note the property in the lower right corner. Reminds me of the tale of Mrs Tiggywinkle. If you don't know what I'm on about you're probably a lot younger than I am.

Chalford
Looking across the Golden Valley from the Thames & Severn Canal. Much of Chalford is built on the steep hillsides with no road access. Supplies, and even the post were delivered here until relatively recently by donkey. See http://www.stroudphotos.co.uk/USERIMAGES/Chalford%20donkeyx.jpg which also shows in the distance, the Chalford Arches on the GWR Gloucester - Swindon line.
