Northleach is a Town not a village. It has a Charter dating back to the middle ages.

A grammar school was founded close to this site in 1560 under a bequest by the wealthy local landowner Hugh Westwood, although the building seen here dates from more like the 17th Century; it was used as a boarding house and accommodation for the headmaster, but closed in the early 1900s, and is now a private dwelling. It was replaced in the 1920s by a purpose-built grammar school further east in the town, which has also now closed and the pupils transferred to Bourton-on-the-Water.

The "house formerly extended further left of present front, the additional bays were refronted in the early C19 in a similar way to the remaining 2 bays. This part of the house was dismantled and transported to America by Henry Ford in 1937". I wonder where it is? He shipped another Cotswold property to Greenfield Village, Dearborn http://www.cotswolds.info/places/greenfield.shtml . Does the Monarch's Way pass this junction? The 1:25000 map says not, the LDPA map says it does.

A Grade II listed https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101154890-dover-house-northleach-with-eastington#.WaVYcD596M8 building with an interesting history. It was originally built around 1619, albeit extended and altered in the meantime, and has variously been a wool & cloth store (hardly surprising, given the area's historical wealth is based largely on the wool trade) and then the Lamb Inn and the Sherborne Arms. The existing gable end seen here is a relatively recent appearance, as the portion of the building that used to stand here was dismantled and transported, wholesale, to America by Henry Ford, he of the Ford Motor Company - complete with its 18th Century wall paintings. On the junction of High Street and Farmington Road.

Essentially a mid-17th Century town house, and formerly West's Dairy, this 3-storey building was recognised very early for its value, and as such was Grade II listed https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101155200-west-house-northleach-with-eastington#.WaVV4T596M9 in 1952. Amongst the surviving features are a passageway with a griddle-oven, and the basics of much of the original, formerly mullioned, window structures.
