The Strand
The Strand on the High Street in Cheltenham. This building was one of three places that Lord Byron stayed in Cheltenham; of the three this is the only building still standing. He described it as 'the sordid inn'. The poet Thomas Haynes Bayly also lived here.

G's Bar Cheltenham
There is minimal signage on the bar on the corner of Bath Road and Vernon Place. There is a letter G above the doorway and another one on the Bath Road side. The pub sign looks like an attempt to obliterate the name of the previous occupier.

The Old Restoration pub sign
Thought to be the oldest pub in Cheltenham dating from the 15th Century and renamed The Restoration in 1661 in honour of the restoration of King Charles II. The pub kept the name until 2007 with a brief spell as The Varsity until 2010 in an attempt to attract student drinkers. The latest name The Old Restoration dates from 2010.

Sekushi club, Cheltenham
This late November 2011 view of the premises on the corner of Bath Road and Vernon Place shows the Sekushi club, an oriental-themed bar and club. It opened in June 2011 in premises formerly occupied by the Dakota club. Sekushi closed down in January 2012, reportedly because it failed to make a sufficient profit.
