The Daffodil is a superb example of a 1920s Art Deco cinema now converted into a restaurant which has preserved many original features of the auditorium.

The terracotta and iron structure in the foreground is the base of the Tivoli Lamp, a 19th century street lamp which appears to have started life in the nearby Montpellier district before being moved to Tivoli. The district of Tivoli was developed in the 1830s on what was then the edge of the fashionable spa town of Cheltenham. It is of course named after the town near Rome, famous for its Roman remains and Renaissance gardens. http://www.cheltenhamsouthtown.org/an-introduction-to-tivoli.html

Lamp seat in Tivoli
Tivoli in Cheltenham has some very fine architecture and some interesting street furniture. This ceramic lamp seat is certainly aesthetically pleasing.

Aka Tivola Villas. That rare thing, a modern housing development which is not pastiche. There is not a fake column or beam to be seen. It consists of four houses, built in 2013. Pity they could not be classed as affordable - in 2021, one four-bedroomed house was on the market for £1.2m.
