Cheltenham houses [40]
Regent House, on the corner of Montpellier Drive and Vittoria Walk was built circa 1825 and has had later alterations and additions. Until recently a residential home, the building has been converted into 11 apartments. Listed, along with the boundary walls, gates, gate piers and railings, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1103868 Cheltenham is located at the foot of the Cotswold scarp with the small River Chelt flowing through the town. After the discovery of mineral springs in 1716 Cheltenham became a spa town and many Regency houses and other buildings were erected. The town is home to the renowned Cheltenham Festival, four days of horse jump racing culminating in the Gold Cup, held annually in March at the nearby racecourse.

A Grade II listed building. Formerly known as Hygeia House, built as a private house, spa and assembly rooms in the early 1800s, now used as offices.

Cheltenham buildings [29]
This delightful villa is Star Lodge, formerly known as Phoenix Lodge. Now offices, the villa was built circa 1820 and has a fine Roman Doric portico. Some original internal features remain. The building is now sadly overshadowed by the monstrosity that is Montpellier House, an adjunct to the Eagle Tower. Now flats, number 15 Vittoria Walk was two houses formerly numbered 1 and 2 Vittoria Walk. Built in 1825 with later additions and alterations and converted to flats circa 1950. Much of the original joinery and plasterwork remains. Devonshire House, Cheltenham
Four-storey building on the corner of Montpellier Drive and Bath Road. The vertical row of bricked-up window spaces is a reminder of the measures often taken by householders to reduce their liability under the Window Tax, introduced in 1696 in the reign of King William III, repealed in 1851.

Eagle Tower, Cheltenham
Crossways Guest House in the foreground on the right of Bath Road. The tower is a classic 1960s, 16 storey tower block and the only one of any note in the regency city.

Cheltenham houses [39]
The superb Claremont Lodge, number 60 Montpellier Spa Road was built circa 1805. The top storey and entrance porch on the left were added in 1835 and the range to the right was added circa 1860. The building is now flats and two houses (Numbers 23 and 25 Vittoria Walk). Claremont Lodge
Claremont Lodge is a fine example of a Regency house. The house was built on part of land purchased by Henry Thompson from the de la Bere family. Thompson was responsible for the development of the Montpellier region of Cheltenham in the early 19th century. Vittoria House in Vittoria Walk was built in 1804 as a house, assembly rooms and spa. There were later alterations and additions. Until recently the house has been used as offices and is currently (March 2020) being restored as a family home. Many original internal features survive. Originally named Hygeia House this was the first Montpellier Spa with mineral waters being dispensed here until 1809 when the spa and assembly rooms were moved to the site of the present Montpellier Rotunda in Montpellier Walk, moving again by 1813 to the site of the Queen's Hotel, Promenade.
