Claremont Lodge is a fine example of a Regency house. The house was built on part of land purchased by Henry Thompson from the de la Bere family. Thompson was responsible for the development of the Montpellier region of Cheltenham in the early 19th century. The house is Grade II* listed, see: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1387123
