Railtour at St Mary's Halt
Hastings Diesels ran the Dean Forest Foray railtour from Hastings to the Dean Forest Railway with their DEMU No. 1001. The tour is seen here on DFR metals, crossing the A48 between Lydney Junction and St. Mary's Halt.

Access path to St Mary's Halt, Lydney
With the station footbridge http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1944315 currently closed, access to the station is along this path which begins next to the A48 level crossing.http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1942888 St Mary's Halt opened in 1892 as Lydney Lakeside. It is now a request stop on the heritage Dean Forest Railway's route from Lydney Junction to Parkend.

Exit to St Mary's Halt
Gap in the wall at the back of the graveyard which gives directly onto the steam railway lines at St Mary's Halt. People tend to cross the line here as it is a good shortcut, despite the bridge being closed.
