With the station footbridge http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1944315 currently closed, access to the station is along this path which begins next to the A48 level crossing.http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1942888 St Mary's Halt opened in 1892 as Lydney Lakeside. It is now a request stop on the heritage Dean Forest Railway's route from Lydney Junction to Parkend.
