Cromhall chapel
The village of Cromhall in George III's reign was described as a "dark place, benighted with ignorance" with regards to spirituality. But in the early 1800s there was a concerted effort to establish a new church. Open air and cottage meetings were popular so local businessman Samuel Long gave some land to provide a permanent place of worship. Along with a Christopher Keeling, the chapel was opened in 1819.
