So wonderful!
Graffiti used to be pretty crude and had little cultural content. Today's vandals appear to have more of a sense of purpose, if not talent.

Gloucester library
The library, just off the main Southgate shopping street, finds itself in a rather more peaceful area. That is, providing it doesn't host an art exhibition or a musical event - which is something the place offers as well as just books. A grand and impressive building, this fine example of more modern architecture adjoins the old Greyfriars ruins. See Image] for a bolt benchmark that can be seen on the corner.

Greyfriars House, Greyfriars, Gloucester
A stately stone front dated c1810. The central three bays project under a pediment while the middle bay is set back a little from its neighbours. Built for currier Philo Maddy. Grade I listed. The return reveals that more is going on here - this is the polite Georgian face to the remains of an early C16th church. Seen to better effect here Image

A new Big Brother?
Whilst parts of Gloucester's academic centre are being redeveloped (see Image]), it seems there is surveillance from all angles. So look out!
