A new collection of houses have been endowed with the address of Chillingworth Mews. This is, as a plaque illustrates, in honour of Dr William Chillingworth - the designer of a siege machine that was destroyed in the Siege of Gloucester of 1643. The event is commemorated in the children's rhyme of Humpty Dumpty. However, the original verses were: 'Humpty Dumpty fell in a beck, with all his sinews round his neck, forty surgeons and forty knights, couldn't put Humpty Dumpty to rights.'

The well-known removals company are now based on an out-of-town business park. The sign seems to have had a couple of different versions over the course of time.

This was the house of the order of Friars minore (Franciscans or Greyfriars) which was founded c1231 by Thomas, Lord Berkeley. The present remains are the 16th century rebuilding of the nave and north aisle. After the Dissolution the church was converted into tenements and workshops. The west end was rebuilt in the 18th century with a fine facade facing Mary de Crypt. Nothing remains of the conventual buildings which lay to the south of the church. Today the remains are in the care of English Heritage.

Formerly a Pickfords Storage Warehouse now the home of an indoor climbing centre. The height of the building allows for some interesting climbs.

In the background is St Kyneburgh Tower, is known locally as the 'CD Rack'.

Some of Gloucester's students were so appalled by the old college site in Brunswick Road they were moved to riot. Having closed four years previously, the empty eyesore was comprehensively attacked by a mob and partly set alight. Now the site, possibly including the 1941 'Gloscat Tower', is being cleared for what is planned to be a housing development, with retail outlets, offices, restaurants and a surgery.

This is claimed to be the oldest Roman masonry in Britain, erected in the middle of the first century AD constructed by Vespasian while he was commanding the second Legion.
