The M8 motorway at Sighthill
Sighthill is on the right, with some of the new buildings in the massive regeneration scheme visible in the distance.
Note the slip roads which join and leave the M8 'fast' lanes at the west side of Junction 15. This is a result of the cancelled Glasgow inner ring road scheme, under which these would have been the main route.

M8 - Looking West from Junction 15
Junction 15 is the Townhead interchange on the M8. The photograph shows the unusual situation on an urban motorway of a sliproad onto the westbound carriageway and a sliproad from the eastbound carriageway coming on to and leaving from the outside lane of the motorway. A similar situation exists about a mile and half west of this at Junction 18.

The M8 motorway in Glasgow
The notorious Junction 15 west bound sliproad from Castle Street which joins the motorway at the "fast" lane. This is a remnant from the original ring road plans which would have made this sliproad the main road, with the road from Edinburgh joining from the left (the right as seen in this photo).
A similar sliproad can be seen on the east bound carriageway leaving the fast lane to join Castle Street.
