Southwest corner of Balgray Reservoir
A good path, part of the Dams to Darnley Country Park http://www.damstodarnley.org/ affords an easy walk round the south side of Balgray Reservoir. This picture shows the muddy shoreline and the view across the reservoir from the southwest corner.

Balgray Reservoir
Looking north from the south-western corner of the reservoir. There is supposed to be a burn entering the reservoir at this point. On the day of my visit there was no water in the burn. All that existed was the small gap in the long grass evident in the photograph. Since the days preceding this were not dry days, I can only presume that very often there is little or no water in the burn.

Tree-lined minor road
This single-track road is one of several in the area of farmland lying roughly between Barrhead and Newton Mearns. At this point the road points straight towards the prominent little hill Duncarnock. The view in the opposite direction, over Balgray Reservoir, is shown in Image
