In Search Of Inspiration
A granite, steel and bronze sculpture by Keith Donnelly, installed in a garden beside West Mains Road in 1996. It reflects the religious and electronics histories of East Kilbride; the "network card" base receiving information from the "contact breaker" spire.

"In Search of Inspiration"
This public artwork, by Keith Donnelly, is made of granite and steel, with bronze detailing. It was installed in February 1996, and combines religious and technological symbolism; this reflects both the technology industry of East Kilbride, and the fact that the artwork is situated near the West Kirk and the Old Parish Church. An information panel located nearby provides further details.

East Kilbride railway station, South Lanarkshire
Opened in 1868 by the Busby Railway which soon became part of the Caledonian Railway, the line once ran from Glasgow to Hamilton but the section beyond East Kilbride was not a commercial success, and this has been the terminus for many years.
View east towards the buffers a few months after the railway line had been electrified. A new station building was also opened in 2025 to replace the previous 1970s one, just visible on Image
Although there had previously been numerous sidings to the left of the image, now housing, there was only ever a single platform here.
