Newton railway station, Lanarkshire
Opened in 1873 by the Caledonian Railway on the line from Rutherglen to Motherwell, also the junction for Cathcart. It replaced an earlier station of 1849 vintage some 600m further east.
View west towards Cambuslang and Rutherglen, also Kirkhill and Cathcart. The old signal-box on the right was disused at this time.

Newton Railway Station
The main south railway line just bypasses this station. It does, however, serve as the terminus for trains from Glasgow Central via Kings Park. It is also the station between Cambuslang and Blantyre for Hamilton Circle trains.
