Abstraction (No.781)
A painted mural on the 6 pillars under the Kirkintilloch Bypass bridge over the canal by artist Rachel Barron. It is part of East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture’s Trails + Tales heritage and arts programme and was created in August 2018. The pattern is based on an illustration of a ventilation grating found within a Lion Foundry catalogue at William Patrick Library Archives. See https://www.trailsandtales.org/news/rachel-barrons-mural-at-kirkintilloch. Unfortunately since it was created parts of it have been defaced by graffiti.
