Looking across the Kelvin Valley from Craigmarloch Wood towards Barrwood, on the edge of Kilsyth. The field in the middle is still flooded following recent heavy rain.

Looking like a small canal,like the Kelvin this burn was also straightened and deepened by landowners to drain the bog and minimise flooding.

Horses grazing on the floodplain
The flood plain of the Kelvin at the narrow gap between Barwood and Dullatur. The road from Kilsyth town and Dullatur twists across the middle of the photo. The unseen canal feeder runs along the contour at the treeline on the right.
