Rouken Glen Park
Glasgow has many parks like this but Rouken was voted the country's best park in 2016. I am not sure if that is for Scotland or the whole of the UK. The park has a wonderful cafe at one end a garden centre with cafe at the other. It has a tremendous children's play centre and also extensive grounds for walking and picnicking. It also has a large pond.

Auldhouse Burn
Here the Auldhouse Burn follows a man-made lade, which was part of a series of features which provided water to power the nearby former Thornliebank Calico Printing Works, and Newfield and Thornliebank cotton mills. The lade stands several metres above what used to be a reservoir just to the west [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5994530].
