Pole Vault, Jax Thoirs of Scotland, Commonwealth Games 2014
Jax Thoirs of Scotland makes his third attempt to clear a height of 5.55 metres, but sadly didn't achieve it. If he had achieved it, he would have beaten his own Scottish National record of 5.50 metres which he set in June 2013. Jax just missed a medal, finishing 4th with a height of 5.45 metres - the same height as Shawn Barber, who came 3rd because he had fewer failed attempts.

Lesser Hampden
The grounds of Queens Park Football Club. They are the only fully amateur club in the Scottish Professional leagues. Their ground is Lesser Hampden and has a small stand with about 300 seats which sits next to the national stadium Hampden Park.
The amateur status is reflected by its Latin motto, 'Ludere Causa Ludendi' – 'To Play for the Sake of Playing'.
It is said that the white building just behind the stand in the image is the oldest building in any football league in the UK to be still be in use by a football club.

A junior tournament
On Queens Park (Lesser Hampden) a Junior Tournament is about to start between at least four teams that I could see. This is all happening after the 5 year olds have had their session and before the first team play in Scottish Division 2 in the afternoon, though they are playing away. A very busy ground.
