Firefighters Monument
This monument statue of a firefighter erected in 2001 stands outside Grand Central Hotel on the corner of Gordon Street and Hope Street near to the Glasgow Central Station. The wooden cross and poppy is a reminder of the recent 10th anniversary of 911 and reads 9-11, F.D N.Y (which is the Fire Department of New York), in remembrance 343, 10 years. http://www.rampantscotland.com/glasgow/glw_firemen.htm. Grand Central Hotel
The historic former Central Station Hotel which received the world's first long-distance television pictures on 24 May 1927 by John Logie Baird. The sculpture is "Citizen firefighter" by Scottish sculptor Kenny Hunter.

Queen Bitch
As a Geographer with two bikes I'm not that familiar with this make of bike tied up to the railings. The view is across Hope Street to the entrance for Glasgow Central Station which leads to the main concourse of the upper level.
