The Former Tent Hall
The former Tent Hall on Turnbull Street, Glasgow was built around 1876 as a large meeting hall for the United Evangelical Association. It takes its name from their original meeting place, a mission tent on Glasgow Green. The building, which is listed at Category B, was recently converted into flats.

Converted to flats
At the corner of Steel Street (on the left) and Turnbull Street (foreground). Whilst most of the exterior is unchanged, windows sprouting from the roof suggest that the inside has been comprehensively gutted in the conversion to flats.

Former Tent Hall, Turnbull Street
Built in 1876 in the wake of a visit by the American evangelists Moodie and Sankey, the Tent Hall took its name from the tent on Glasgow Green erected for their revivalist campaign two years previously. In the 1920s it attracted large audiences of up to a 1,000 and provided between 2,000 and 3,000 free breakfasts each week for the Poor. It closed in 1979.

Former Central Police Office, Turnbull Street
Glasgow's coat-of-arms flanked by figures representing the Law and Justice on the former headquarters of the City of Glasgow Police. The premises were vacated in 1975 following the formation of Strathclyde Police.
