Originally continuous with 23-25 Belmont Street http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6202681 with which it forms a single listing Listed Category B http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB44935 . The gap in the foreground is the site of no.29, demolished in the late 1990s when it was in derelict condition.

Remains of North Woodside Flint Mill
An industrial site by the river Kelvin, where from the mid-18th century a water mill ground barley, and later a coal-fired mill produced flint paste 1846 to 1958. The millstones seen here are not originally from this site. Information from an information board on the site. The site is a scheduled monument (SM3883).

North Woodside Flint Mill
Flint was roasted and pulverised here to provide a powder that was used to strengthen ceramics and also to provide a lighter colour. Flints are usually associated with the Cretaceous chalks of England and would have been imported from the south - they are very rare in Scotland.
The mill closed in 1959.

Mill Race, former North Woodside Flint Mill
The mill opened in about 1765 originally as a barley mill and later used to produce flints and gunpowder. The mill was damaged during the blitz in the Second World War and closed.
