Demolition of the Western Infirmary
The part of the Western Infirmary completed in 1974 has now been demolished.
The buildings behind are part of the late 19th and early 20th century parts of the Western Infirmary, which face onto Church Street. Some sections are listed buildings. The block which sticks out is the former G Block of the hospital.
The demolition is the first phase of a £1 billion redevelopment project at the University of Glasgow.

The Advanced Research Centre (Mazumdar-Shaw Building)
The new Advanced Research Centre opened in 2022. It is named after Glasgow graduate John Shaw and Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, who gifted $7.5million to the University of Glasgow in July 2019.

Chapel, former Western Infirmary
Seen beyond the rubble of parts of the Western Infirmary complex, currently being demolished. The chapel is part of the Category B listed Outpatients and Dispensary at 62 Church Street and 10c Dumbarton Road [http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB32857].

Elder Memorial Chapel
Category B listed chapel http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB32857. It has an Arts and Crafts interior (See Canmore https://canmore.org.uk/site/162147/glasgow-church-street-western-infirmary-general-elder-memorial-chapel). The chapel was hidden at the rear of the Western Infirmary Outpatients Department, which has now been demolished as part of the Campus Regeneration of the University of Glasgow.

New University buildings
The Clarice Pears Building on the left is nearing completion. On the right is the Advanced Research Centre, which opened in 2022. The artworks on the hoarding on the right are part of a collaborative project between the University of Glasgow and Yardworks Festival, a large-scale live art event that took place in June 2022 at SWG3 in Glasgow.
