The part of the Western Infirmary completed in 1974 has now been demolished. The buildings behind are part of the late 19th and early 20th century parts of the Western Infirmary, which face onto Church Street. Some sections are listed buildings. The block which sticks out is the former G Block of the hospital. The demolition is the first phase of a £1 billion redevelopment project at the University of Glasgow.
