Partick railway station, Glasgow
Opened in 1979 by British Rail on its line from Glasgow to Dalmuir, this replaced Partick Hill station just 150 metres behind the camera position (see Image). The new station site was chosen as it offered closer interchange with buses and the Glasgow subway.

Train, Partick station (1985)
A three-car class 314 emu (314.206), in Strathclyde Passenger Transport Executive livery, calling at Partick with the 13.40 Motherwell – Dalmuir. The stock was derived from the Southern Region’s “PEP” emu – see this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_314 for more information. Note the degree of cant on the curve. Electric Train Departing From Partick Train station
An electric train departs from Partick train station on a westbound service from platform 2. The photograph was taken from platform 1. Partick station is a large glass structure as can be seen from the waiting area in the background. This busy interchange station sees around 16 trains per hour passing through. In the basement there is an underground subway station.
