St John the Divine's Parish Church, East Beach, Lytham
The church of St John the Divine was erected in 1848-9, and consecrated on the 11th September 1850. It was a mission church of St Cuthbert's until St John's became a parish in its own right in 1870. The Lifeboatmen's church
Looking out of a window at the top of Lytham Windmill Image across Lytham Green on which a woman is walking her dog. Across East Beach (the A584 to Preston) is St John's Parish Church which was built in 1849. It is known as the Lifeboat men's church. The vicar of St John's is Chaplain to the crew.
