Triangulation pillar, Cowden Hill
Thieves, known to triangulation pillar enthusiasts as " Mr Allan Key" often take the plug cover from the top of triangulation pillars. One use for a pillar after these lowlives have visited is to employ it as a flagpole holder. The pillar is hard to reach, being blocked off by the Forth and Clyde Canal and gardens.

Beautifully planted and maintained gardens alongside the canal. Gates lead to residents gardens so presumably it is they who are responsible for this civic pride.

Steam traction engine in Bonnybridge
The engine, named "Flower O' Scotland" and owned by Nicholas Watson, has just left a yard by the Forth & Clyde Canal and is heading by Road to South Queensferry to join the following day's Forth Bridge centenary celebrations.
