Balhaldie House
The plaque on the wall reads "Balhaldie House dates from 1695 and was the town house of the Drummonds of Balhaldie, whose estate was two miles north of the town. William Drummond was a Jacobite spy who encouraged the rebellion of 1745. Prince Charles Edward Stuart slept in the house on the night of 11th September 1745 on his way to the battle of Prestonpans.

The building to the left is Dunblane Library; beyond that is the late 17th century Balhaldie House, the townhouse of Alexander Drummond who was a notable Jacobite supporter - Bonnie Prince Charlie stayed here on 11th September 1745.

Balhaldie House dates from the late seventeenth century and was the town house of the Drummonds of Balhaldie who had estates near Dunblane. Charles Edward Stewart stayed in this house on 11th September 1745.
