Dog near Dawlish
The scene in Image, enlivened by a small dog who yapped incessantly as we passed along Dawlish footpath 22. Did it emerge from someone's Christmas stocking? The youthful hedge hasn't grown a great deal.

Dawlish Footpath 22
The footpath crosses a field of broad beans (the third in a row) towards modern bungalows on South Downs Road; the sea is about another 300 metres beyond.

John Nash Drive, Dawlish
This spacious, busy road on the southern edge of Dawlish must help to relieve the town centre of cross-town traffic.

Young hedge south of Dawlish
A view of the tree guards on the bank is at Image, showing some growth in the intervening 14 months. This is by Dawlish footpath 22.

New houses near Dawlish
The scene in Image is transformed by new houses in the northeast corner of the field. Dawlish footpath 22 passes alongside the banks, fence and very young hedge.

Path, Oakland Wood
From Dawlish footpath 22. Not mapped as a right of way, but an inviting and, it appears, unforbidden route.

South Downs Road, Dawlish
A similar view to Image, of a residential cul-de-sac off the A379, which has a pair of branches, and a new development that will have radically altered the scene in Image (I must see what's become of the path sometime).

Footpath No.22 on the edge of a field
Looking back towards the sea. The woodland is on the south side of Dawlish. Some of the trees are Holm Oak (Quercus ilex).
