A380 at the top of Telegraph Hill
From the A38 at Splatford Split (I kid you not) the A380 climbs about 140 metres in a horizontal distance of 1600 metres (about a mile). The signs before the descent say: 5%. Low Gear Now. Escape Lane Ahead. Telegraph Hill. It's a racetrack with fleeting panoramic glimpses across Devon.

Haldon Chalets caf? by the A380
Seen from Great Haldon Bridge, which since 2005 has provided a safe junction with the A380 for traffic destined for Mamhead and Starcross to the east, roughly, and for Great Haldon and Exeter Racecourse to the west.

Great Haldon Bridge and filling station, Telegraph Hill
From a recently-constructed slip road which links Image to the northbound carriageway of the A380. Glimpsed beneath the bridge, which opened in September 2005, is Haldon Chalet, which lends its name to the junction as a whole.
