Millennium Marker outside the parish hall in Rewe
Commemorative Marker on the east side of the A396 by the parish hall car park. Rewe parish. Inscribed REWE 2000 on north and south faces, fitted with a sundial on top. A Millennium stone erected by the parish hall trustees. See also http://www.flickr.com/photos/tollhouses/5625077121.

Thorndon House, Rewe
In an impressive spot overlooking the River Culm, this was formerly the rectory, built in 1840 by Brunel. The reason for this is that construction of the Bristol and Exeter Railway, which runs through the hamlet, required the demolition of the existing rectory http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1333261&searchtype=mapsearch . I suspect this resulted in a better view!

St Mary the Virgin, Rewe
Grade I listed http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-88487-the-parish-church-of-st-mary-rewe-devon . Seen from the south across the churchyard. The churchyard cross has a C15 base http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-88489-churchyard-cross-south-of-parish-church-r . Behind the cross can be seen one of the brick C19 estate cottages that line the main road.

Rewe: church and river
Looking across the River Culm from Rewe Footpath 1 just upstream from the footbridge carrying it over the River Culm.
