Horse trough
The inscription is so weathered as to be almost illegible. However I noted that it was erected in 1915; when was the last horse trough in the UK erected? In other words, when did councils and benefactors realise that the water troughs would not be needed any more?

Commemorative Marker by the A377, in parish of Exeter (Exeter District), St. David's, at junction of New North Road, Cowley Bridge Road and road leading to Red Cow village, at end of short low wall on path at fork in road.
Dated 1915.
Main inscription reads; : IN MEMORY OF / Q.R. KAY OF THIS CITY / AND HIS WIFE BROTHERS / AND SISTERS / ERECTED BY THEIR DAUGHTER / E. S. STRONG
