Former Exeter City Transport bus at Exwick terminus ? 1973
Bus 277, formerly 77, part of the Devon General fleet since 1970, is still in full City Transport livery, including the city coat of arms. It is a Leyland PD2 with Massey bodywork, new in 1961. The area has been substantially redeveloped with new housing on the former industrial development behind the bus. At the time this was pretty well the limit of housing development, which has since been substantially expanded in the area. This is one of a series of views featuring buses in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=137652761

Japanese Pagoda Tree (Sophora Japonica)
This is a Japanese Pagoda Tree (Sophora Japonica) in the garden of 205 Exwick Road, and possibly the largest in England. An article in the local paper (The Express & Echo) in September 26th 1998 quoted Michael Hickson of the National Trust's plant conservation programme as saying "It might be the largest in England. The one in the record book is in Syon Park in London but I think this one is bigger." It usually flowers in September.
