North Tawton Post Office
North Tawton has a population of less than 2,000 but has the feel and many of the facilities of a small town - although on this bank holiday Monday it was decidedly sleepy. The post office is situated next to the town hall in the square. Note the Lord Kitchener poster with an exhortation to shop locally.

Churchyard Cross, North Tawton
Just the granite shaft and base of a medieval cross remain, relocated here in 1887; as http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-92976-churchyard-cross-north-tawton points out, the head and arms are missing. On the right is the corner of Image with a yew beside it.

Town Hall, North Tawton
Another view of Image; the sandstone ashlar looks a little less grim in the winter sun. The building dates from 1849, as the keystone inscription over the door states http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-93006-town-hall-including-area-railings-at-fron . Intentionally taken with the red car to hide a figure sitting on the steps.
