Old Milestone north of Cutland Cross
Carved stone post by the UC road, in parish of CHULMLEIGH (NORTH DEVON District), Cutland, 20m East of Half Moon Cottage, buried in bank, on South side of road. Barum tombstone, erected by the Barnstaple turnpike trust in the 19th century.

Signpost, Cutland Cross
A detail of Image], again with King's Nympton visible in the distance. I've reached this junction on foot from Chulmleigh from the lane behind the camera (though I didn't come via Elstone) and it must be rather shorter and more traffic-free than the advertised route, but I suppose that does follow a less twisty course.

A straight stretch of the lane from Toll Bar Cross, with a wide verge, and lots of hemp agrimony, one of the commonest wild flowers around here at this time of the year.
