Two Rectories at Dunkeswell
The Rectory, and The Old Rectory stand side by side on a hillside at the south edge of the village.

RAF Dunkeswell: a tour of a WW2 airfield - Main Stores (6)
The tall building between the two outer ones was the fabric store which still retains its original wooden folding doors on the front elevation. The two outer buildings were for the storage of aero engine and MT spares, together with a linked building at the rear that was a separate store for large airframe components.

RAF Dunkeswell: a tour of a WW2 airfield - Station Armoury (10)
The Station Armoury was responsible for the secure storage of small arms (weapons and ammunition). The pre-flight loading of aircraft guns would begin here with armourers using special machines to fill ammunition belts. There was a colour coded system in place in order to obtain the correct mix of ammunition e.g. tracer (red), armour piercing (green), incendiaries (blue), and ball (purple).
